This past week, an ancillary appendage of  B.L.M. in New Orleans calling themselves “Take-Em-Down- Nola” demonstrated with relative pacifism to support the rioters, looters and arsonists in Charlotte North Carolina.

They were armed only with “balloons” filled with red paint, with which they sought to brand law enforcement officers, fences, churches and squad cars.

Their prime target was the statue of President (General)  Andrew Jackson astride a rearing stallion in the square that bears his name in the heart of the Crescent City.

The protesters were led by various spokespersons who announced they were going to protest and spill the red goo all over the city and all over the police and their vehicles– and over the Jackson statue until “all the Civil War - connected monuments are removed from the city, beginning with Old Hickory’s icon.

So far as I see, no one on the timeless old Times Picayune has seized the opportunity to instruct the restless, evocative mob that Andy Jackson , heroic slayer of American Native Indians, and genius of the Battle of New Orleans which was fought long after the war of 1812 had been settled with a peace treaty, was dead 20 years before Citadel  cadets  fired on Fort Sumter !

As a matter of fact, Jackson had a scar left by the sword of a British redcoat  officer whose boots the young firebrand refused to shine.

There are many icons of  Saint Joan, (Maid of Orleans) in Nola.  She is said to have spanked a prostitute with her sword once upon a time.

Would the tormented complainers paint  Jeanne d'Arc red, also ?

Having spent many wonderful dining days and raucous nights in New Orleans, and felt the pulse  of the city, I thought that both whites and blacks took some prideful interest in the multiracial history and nature of the city. 

 Both Louis Armstrong and George Washington Cable would be shocked at these Johnny-come-lately’s playing the “race oppression” card.

Especially mis-targeting a war of 1812 militarist who invented American populism.

Cokie Roberts’ parents did more damage to African-Americans in Louisiana than any general from any war.  It’s quixotic that ignorance about Gen. Jackson in the year 2016 is the direct result of the masses being stuck on the Democrat party plantation of penury, as if they fought their way onto fly-paper.

THE 1811 COLUMN Enemy

We’ve all had the experience with termites and cockroaches. They are like terrorist enemies.

 Some countries are easy prey to the espionage / terrorist deluge. But a scary announcement by the Inspector General of the Department of Homeland Security Monday, September 19 put the USA in the banana republic sector as far as conflict-to-the-enemy is concerned.

I.G.  John Roth and his auditors, to the dismay of both legislative houses and some more loyal (however incompetent) foreign service agents, announced that the Immigration and Naturalization service has sworn in  858 naturalized citizens whom Mr. Roth views as “risks” to national security

We are used to DHA thugs inspecting bras and diapers at the airports, but THIS is reckless and not funny at all.

Mr. Roth said it was all “a mistake”.  Some mistake !

He characterized the new citizens as having many egregious lapses in  their vetting.  There were  phony  names and aliases. There were instances of no fingerprints for many of them, which alone should have disqualified their applications.

Most  people with intact brains are aware that the southern borders of the United States have been raped, fouled  and all but dissolved by the present national administration. Orders emanating from High Places.

But now we have the bureaucracy within the homeland security division of naturalization playing fast and loose with the future and security  of our country.

Ironic is not a strong enough word for the fact that this announcement from an incorruptible Inspector General came less than 24 hours after huge bombs did frightful damage to property as well as life and limb in New York and New Jersey Sunday.

Very specifically points to one federal law, Title 18. 

Section 2071.

For those of us who do not have United States Code 

committed to memory, here's what it says:

“(a) Whoever willfully and unlawfully conceals, 

removes, mutilates, obliterates, or destroys, or attempts

 to do so, or, with intent to do so takes and carries

 away any record, proceeding, map, book, paper,

 document, or other thing, filed or deposited with any 

clerk or officer of any court of the United States, or in

 any public office, or with any judicial or public officer  

of the United States, shall be fined under this title or 

imprisoned not more than three years, or both.

"(b) Whoever, having the custody of any such record,

 proceeding, map, book, document, paper, or other 

thing, willfully and unlawfully conceals, removes, 

mutilates, obliterates, falsifies, or destroys the same,

 shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more 

than three years, or both; and shall forfeit his office 

and be disqualified fromholding any office under 

the United States. As used in this subsection, the term

 “office” does not include the office held by any

person as a retired officer of the Armed Forces of the 

United States.”

Yes, it explicitly states "shall forfeit his office and 

be disqualified from holding any office under the 

United States."

Shouldn't voters know that? The media won't tell them. 

A Plague too far...

For a long time, the topography of modern reportage on the radio, television and in newspapers was too full of  hills and promontories, looming so that one could not make out the "lay of the land".

Admittedly many decades ago, the reporter's laws intruded: (1) Rape is a vegetable ! and (2) Add a nickel to your "feelings" and you might get a Tampa Nugget (cigar).

Sometime during the late 1980s with the advent of Rush Limbaugh on talk radio, we all became aware that any media outlet, if it referred to him at all, called him a "conservative" commentator.

His predecessor, a  warm  and amiable Brit, Michael Jackson, was NEVER called a "liberal" or "leftist" commentator---(but he WAS !)

We have all noticed since, that  Michael Savage, Tucker Carlson and Ann Coulter have been branded "right-wing" commentators.

And it is always a  bit startling, but Peggy Noonan and Dr. Charles Krauthammer are described by their peers and interlocutors as  "conservative".

While he was alive, Andrew Breitbart's  news and blogs were labeled right-leaning. And the news site that now bears his name is daily described as "arch-conservative". All these descriptions become meaningless when Rachel Maadow, Al Sharpton, Chris Matthews and Wolf Blitzer  escape public pigeonholing as "liberals" or "left-leaning"

The massive guile inherent in this is that by treating these talking heads as without opinion, the
indoctrinators may flood their spew with any kind of bias they choose---allegedly with impunity.

But, since Newsweek, as we breathe here now, is publishing its last issue after many years of degrading prostitution for the political left, there may be a hint in the air that the citizenry  is catching on. 

Thus is how it began on the internet.

Matt Drudge, in the 1990's was only noted for his broad brush of international links. He was then and is now, the number one agregator. If you want any wire service from  UPI to Xinhua, click. If you want a columnist, he has Maureen Dowd and Ruth Marcus. If you want Al Arabiya or  Agence France Presse (AFP) it's there. . He gets one BILLION pagewiews a month 

But when he "WENT"  with the Bill Clinton / Monica Lewinsky story, he was hauled before an INQUISITION  at the Washington Press Club, and thereafter branded "Right`wing" and "conservative". o.

Just because he printed a story that no one else, though they all knew about it, would  publish. That is still the way of it .

Many of us who saw that Press Club appearance will never forget how calmly Matt explained their own sins of omission to the  Messy-NBC, the Collectivst News Net, and all the "alphabet" networks,  NYTimes, WaPo and wire services.

They will never forgive Matt Drudge . But he is bigger than any of them now. So, when Breitbart raised its head, offering a right-leaning Gay man as a robust commentator, you will notice that the New York Times rather "applauded" the "arrival" of  Breitbart News as a force in Journalism.

But the old pall...the old  plague of name-calling and suppression goes on and will likkely never end.

Just yesterday the "editor"  at the Times in charge of reporting and commenting on the internet fairly ordered and demanded, in a letter to GOOGLE executives, that all information regarding Hillary Clinton's health be erased from the search engine's archives and suppressed in all its algorithms. We cannot know HOW they can follow his directuins.  But they must do it al the time.

Soft Target ?

Everybody knows that Dean Jonathan Swift is a hero of ours  because he set the standard for punitive satire with his "Modest Proposal" that the British gentry serve parboiled Irish infants at their  grand soirees.

 

So with  a bow to Swift, we  have a modest proposal of our own  for an activist group.

 

Horrified by the announcement by the neo-  anarchist group, Black Lives Matter,  that it plans a  full-throated shutdown of Graceland during the celebration of Elvis Presley week in Memphis,  our shredded heart and spirit were moved to search for alternatives to suggest to these courageous celebrants of life.  

 

We believe  we have found a venue worthy of these worthies'  attention.

 

Chicago.

 

That is, by coincidence of course, well prepared fertile fallow field where BLM can lay about and weigh in (to use some snarky mainstream media lingo) on the theme they undergird so eponymously.

 

Because just this past weekend, in less than three days, 52 black citizens were shot and nine black lives were  shattered and lost.

In the sacred words of  Al Capp's Li'l Abner..."Any fool can plainly see !"... that Chicago is NOT a place where black lives matter. It really does   need some creative demonstrating and protesting and singular indoctrination on the Windy City's SouthSide. Certainly the Godfather, Hizzonor D'Mayor Rahm Emanuel is not achieving much in the way of saving lives and creating serenity.

 

Things in general have mattered less and less for the past eight years during which Washington DC and specifically Pennsylvania Avenue have drawn a formerly successful community organizer's attention away from South Adams Street and surrounding environs.

 

Do you suppose the eminent BLM group can succeed in Cook County as they have since their inception ?

 

Well... They can take a stab at it. (OOPS )

Two Whistle Blasts

On the same day that a blogger named  Gerard Perry asked the "Western" world what price it is willing to play for what its dizzy activists call "vibrant diversity"--- Milwaukee Sheriff  Richard Clarke and former NYC Mayor Rudolph Giuliani stepped up and accused not just the present White House but the entire Democrat Party with being "pro-criminal" !

Let's look at those  two sociopolitical statements with the  understanding that life is not "fair" and that especially in the 21st century things do NOT  come out "even".

There are some exciting facts available if we turn over the rocks underneath the rocks that have been turned over haplessly.

We have been the beneficiaries of wisdom from "modern" American feminists now for about 50 years,   even though they lost sight of the suffragettes and the ax- wielding women of the WCTU who got alcoholic beverages outlawed in 1920. Our society is resplendent with an array of power shifted beyond the dreams of a mere  ERA militant.

Just one small--- but oh-so-important gauge of the shattered glass ceiling is the apparent total demise of the male news anchor... A revolution is swiftly gaining impetus at the Pentagon. The Joint Chiefs of Staff are definitely in the cross-hairs, so to speak..

Yet the supporters of this breathtaking liberating movement that juices up the economy and society apparently have no time to consider the inhuman and brutally bloody circumcision of little girls practiced by our imported (illegally and legally) "vibrantly diverse"  terrorist  refugees.

There is no raging outcry against the apparently sacred selling of prepubescent girls into sexual slavery. There is no widespread damning  of the butchering of one woman wearing a T-shirt and shorts by six Burqa- clad women from a mosque.  Where is the fire of a Betty Friedan or a gritty Germaine Greer ? Is rape by an Allah-chanting Islamic terrorist less nasty and more acceptable than rape by a white Yale sophomore ?

It's time someone asked.  And it's also time the print, TV, and Internet mass media outlets exposed the brutality toward women and old people being wrought by Somali and Syrian Islamic refugees in the United Kingdom, Norway, Sweden, Holland, Germany and much of Eastern Europe. Is it not troubling or important that many of these near-fatal stabbings are whitewashed or  "tolerated"  because they are named "religious" acts ?

It could not be that this generation of feminists is more interested in pushing politically correct dogma and race baiting than the banner of equal justice and equal treatment for women, could it ? 

Maybe  there are some clues, and Sheriff Clarke has found them.

The Democrat party is leading the demand that felons or former convicts  should have their voting rights restored.  Legalizing drugs is in the forefront of Democrat policy.  We have the drama of a political party that claims to represent half the population recurrently siding with scofflaws and thugs against professional law enforcement.

The rot is especially evident in Chicago where the city administration just steps out of the way and allows a portion of the citizenry on the South Side to kill each other at random every  weekend.

And in Baltimore, and irrational vengeful mayor and prosecutor tried to persecute a coterie of police officers in the wake of the death of a crack dealer.  But in all the police trials that were held the policemen were found not guilty of anything in the death of  the drug dealer in the paddywagon.  Spurious charges were dropped in cases of three.

It becomes obvious that Sheriff Clarke is on to something.  When any portion of the citizenry dances, laughs and celebrates in the aftermath of a law enforcement officer being gunned down, we don't just have a problem.  We apparently have a political feast for latter-day plantation overseer Democrat connivers.  Pretty soon now, it will be not a big deal, but yawn time.

After that, the Abyss.

It is really upsetting  to say that a  check of  four big media outlets after a "big"  event  reveals  that they all use the same phrases and descriptive words in the same context in  their first two paragraphs--- and all this within less than 10 minutes.

It is as though they were all directed by the same pseudo- editor.

But that could not be, could it ? The subject was the Republican Party nominee's acceptance speech. They all pronounced it "DARK".

Their  "reasons" seemed  to be obtuse and far-fetched. But I was less interested in that than I was in the fact that they all used  the same adjectives and verbs and descriptive nouns.

It was really nothing new, because they all get the same orders... Instructions.....

There is no such thing as a coincidence  if you just look around a little bit after the jackass falls in the well.

But using the word "Dark" about words that sounded a call for more well-lighted places and souls sounds patently devious to me.

Now...  I will tell you what's "dark".

"Forgetting" the American Flag and forgetting to display it on the dais for the whole of a convention opening day is "Dark" !!

Using top-tier party juice to elevate  one of your party's presidential candidates and sink another when they are both your responsibility... Now I call that DARK.

Demanding and receiving a reporter's copy before he gives it to his editor... That  seems DARK to me also.

How about hustling cash for interns in your office to form anti-police riots ?  Is that DARK ?!

These are all nuggets of treachery from Democrat national committee chairman Debbie Wasserman Schultz'  official emails, published by Monieur Assange's Wikileaks website  

just before her convention separated itself from her.

In regurgitating this file story, I plead guilty to Snark.  And when  Assange comes up with some more delicious trashing of the honor-challenged hoi-polloi, I will probably 

reinvigorate my Snarkiness. They deserve it because they have been getting away with everything except murder in the efforts to subvert and traduce  for eight years or so.

There are blacker shades of "Dark" yet to be seen, heretofore hidden from citizens.

For instance, what has happened to the investigation of the murder-shooting death of a Democrat National Committee  voter rights functionary in the wee hours of July 12 in his D.C. neighborhood. Murderous Apology

Having spent many years of my youth reporting from the police station of a large metropolitan area for a rather famous newspaper, which also sent me to the state capitol to  enumerate the highs and lows of state senators and representatives, I thought in these  late years there could be nothing that would surprise or shock.

Before I was 30, I had seen every kind of murder and suicide, hateful homebound  brutality beyond the imagination of Tarantino or Peckinpaugh.

A state legislator once called my home and offered to kill me  because I had unearthed a crooked scheme worth  a couple of million to him and his friends, buried in a seemingly harmless bit of local legislation that he assumed no one in his stateline locale would ever know about. 

Anyway the point is I thought I had seen and read everything.

But during or after Ms. Patricia Smith's  speech at the Republican convention about her son's death at the hands of  Muslim jihadists at the Benghazi (Libyan) consul;ate,  an overwrought and certainly slightly psychotic editor of a national magazine, GQ, rushed to Twitter and announced to many of the billion subscribers he could reach--- that he wanted to
"beat Patricia Smith to death" !!!

He apologized some time later with another tweet.

But as anyone who has lived to majority in this world knows, one just cannot un-ring a bell... Or get the Preparation H back into the tube !

But just in the last 10 years or so, the elite controllers of the garbage-spewing media have established a certain regimen for those who want to heap calumny and libel on others. A  comparatively witless idiot is allowed to say or do anything in print, on television, and especially on the Internet with full  expectation of impunity-- if not immunity-- as long as he rushes to Twitter or Facebook with an obviously completely insincere "apology".

Beating  someone to death is something that few people know anything about. I doubt if this victim of verborrheea  even knows what someone looks like who has been beaten to death....  I do.

And to promise such unspeakably inhuman recourse is actually beyond the ken of anyone sheltered between the covers of a man's fashion magazine, albeit expanded to such embarrassing opinions as that Obama belongs on Mount Rushmore with George Washington, Abraham Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt.

My self-centered  impulse is to not "accept" these kinds of "apologies" and to never forget their Genesis.

It is spiritual to forgive, but there  is a word in more than 100 languages for the unforgivable.

So be it with this execrable mutant. Insincerity is surely punishable.

Versus Lynch and Ginsburrg

If Ronald Ragan had prior experience of  this last week, it is seriously questionable whether he would have been the first chief magistrate of the United States to place a woman on the Supreme Court, robust feminist though he proved to be.

 

He was very prescient, wise ...and lucky  in his choice of Sandra Day O'Connor, who is aguably assessed by most as an unswervingly deliberate and evenhanded jurist, albeit with conservative leanings.

 

Within just a few days we have  had the spectacle of a Supreme Court justice (Ruth Bader Ginsburg) repeatedly immersing herself in the messy name-calling echolalia that weighs down our general election in 2016.  Liberal media conceded Ginsburg "crossed a line".

 

I think she left her self vulnerable to impeachment.

 

Then, United States' "Top Cop",  Loretta Lynch appeared before a congressional committee charged with overseeing government operation, and during her dialogue with the congresspersons,  Ms. Lunch  REFUSED  to answer questions put before her 74 times.

 

She didn't "take" the Fifth Amendment to protect against self-incrimination.

 

She just clammed up---" stonewalled" if you please.

 

You can see where I'm going with this.  As a TOTAL believer in women's rights I can trace my pedigree back to a grandmother who was a suffragette and latter-day "flapper" , who layered me with indoctrination very early, and who was  "involved"  herself  in social causes when they were infra dig. 

 

She wore pants and pajamas before  the 20's and probably smoked small cigars.before she cut back to MURAD  Turkish cigarettes. She coulf not understand he concept of being "equal" to a group to which she was already superior. 

 

I married a strong, no-limits woman, the best parent and mate in history, who would leave all four of us to fend for ourselves while she ran off to succor a couple  or a single soul  in dire straits or durance vile.

 

By prejudice or by rearing, I do not flee or fight at the event of a strong or even abrasive woman.

 

The characteristic that seduces me most is resilience. As a matter of fact, Justice O'Connor had that  in abundance. So did Margaret Mitchell as a young journalist. And Margaret Chase Smith as a senator survived fools intact.

 

Margaret Thatcher, as  prime minister of Great Britain and four-termer  Eleanor Roosevelt, though oceans apart politically, rose above all the scorn and hatred that threatened them,  and in terms of the  prize ring, "nobody ever laid a glove on 'em".   Indomitable resilience  shone from them.

 

There is a tendency among many women who get their fame or notoriety from constant media exposure to play their sex card. They whine, bark and lie when they are caught or cornered.  Men  who call attention to these defensive foibles are damned  as sexist bigots. That's the nature of the lazy, sloppy media in the 21st century. The source of most of the unrest and disquietude  engulfing us is due to the illiterate and incompetent media-in-a-matrix, never  ranging far from prejudging any  subject of our discontent, afraid that they might contradict one another in a twitching moment of honesty.

 

My idea of responsible women who engage their brains before they loosen their jaws for words are, in the United States, Sen. Joni Ernst of Iowa--- and in the United Kingdom, the former new-broom-sweeps-clean Home Secretary Theresa May who is taking over from David Cameron as prime minister-- right this minute.

 

There are many reasons why these two are my best hope for womankind leadership. I can think of three right off the top of my head.

 

1.  Neither would pop off with scurrilous words about their worst political enemy-nightmare. You would  find both civil and firm.

 

2.   Neither would hide information behind their  alleged self-importance. They have both survived merciless grilling and thrived.

 

3.   Neither of them hate the nation that has recognized  and elevated them to high service.

 

And for good measure, they both have a lot to teach us. My prayer is that we attend.

M'fisi Infection

We may be winning !

During the glorious Fourth, while basking in an effulgent shower of patriotic best wishes from many of you, we were treated to two small pieces of evidence that the enemy is panicked. 

One came from old Skidmore College where the PoohBahs that be have banned and proscribed the use of the phrase "Make America Great Again" from print or conversation in the hallowed halls or copses at Skidmore. Can you guess why?

Why, of course it is "racist" and "hate speech" to imply that the Tyranny of Obozo "diversity dynamics" is anything other than Paradise.

Therefore, the gathering impact of  Sanity is having its effect on the clueless  PeeCee drama queens.

They have no idea how many thousands of voters are shocked into rational thought by this sort of moronic overreach.

The other hint that the bedwetters are drowning in their own blood and tears and sweat came from a nasty usually left-wailing outlet on the Internet named VOX, where a stumbling stupido,  a woeful  word mechanic announced in all the full-whine   his  murky  mind could muster that the Universe including the earth and the Western Hemisphere which includes the North American continent, would ALL be better off today if the United States had never been born on July 4, 1776 and in the ensuing revolution for individual liberty!

His main delight was in conjecturing that abolition of slavery "would have come sooner" under British colonialism. This certainly is questionable in view of history.

At the time of the Declaration of Independence, it is an historical fact that the "Barbary" states,as Mediterranean Islam was called in those days, had more than one and one half  million (1,500,000) white Europeans enslaved. The Brits did not end slavery in their Empire  until 1834, (fudgung on Indsia).'They waited until after World War II to disavow their colonial system of  serfdom.

Bur, wait ! This ignoramus obviously did not know that New Hampshire, Rhode Island, New Jersey and New York abolished slavery in the late 1700's, nearly 50 years before Great Britain!

But the main point to us here is to imagine the anguished, torturous path this scribbler's fetid brain  navigated to arrive at the thesis that everything everywhere would've been better if Washington, Adams, Hamilton, Patrick Henry, Nathanael Greene and John Marshall had never existed.

Just pause and  see if you can imagine what kind of fear and loathing would produce such provocative Wrong-headed hyperbolic nonsense. 

It smacks of Hemingway's African hyena, gutshot and devouring its own entrails.

In Kenya, the Masai call them "m'fisi". 

Pallid Presumptuous Polls

For a number of years, we were associated with an M.Deity who was usually very bright and charming and a first-rate physician, but he HAD to be  "right" all the time.
One day during a meeting I made some casual reference to the fact that then-Sen. Bob Graham of Florida was half-brother to the publisher of the Washington Post, close JFK  friend Philip Graham, who married  Katherine Meyer whose father, Eugene Meyer  built the paper from scraps.

"That's NOT  TRUE !" Our associate- in- charge shouted.

Of course it was so, and a  couple around the table knew that. But we let it go.

In the year 2016, the voting population of the United States of America is being similarly ill used by folks who make millions "surveying" opinions. But I have seen only one media outlet of   any importance that keeps tabs on the "public opinion"  polls and calls them out on their egregious sins against probity.

The American Thinker is the name of the thoughtful editorial site. They just did an excellent job of illustrating how biased all of the sampling of intention was in the run-up to the recent "Brexit" earthquake in the United Kingdom.SEE IT HERE

It was both surprising and satisfying to me to see how  even in the nation that for all intents and purposes invented every one of the several "kinds" of journalism, there exists a sort of   lockstep polling attitude presided over by the Guardian and the BBC that no amount of  Labour, Tory or  UKIP  brilliance can overcome.

We have become jaded in the United Sates with the experience of a Hive of scribblers and yakkers who hum and buzz only one note or chord and who scurry off to the stacks claiming to "fact check" and then come back and suborn their mischief  with a purposeful lying insult to our reason, as CNN and the New York Slimes have both done just within the past week.

And the polls are "skewed" when surveyors count only 39 Republican answers while including 53 Democrat answers. This is actually a 21% "gap" of disparity, you see.

Whether we like it or  not, we are saddled and bridled and the media is booted and spurred for us, and the so-called "polls" are no less propaganda than the  biased reporting and quoting relentlessly sprayed by these retromingents.

One of the most interesting "poll" facts is that the established United States public opinion samplers, dating from January of this year have popped up the job approval ratings of the president above 50%, while European and other offshore public opinion sources have not released him from the "forties" yet.
The journos and the pollsters are complicit in the whole theme:

If the square peg  doesn't fit their round hole (conventional wisdom narrative), it didn't happen or it isn't so !

And we'll just have to do like the Brits, and shock them to their toenails.

That'll be easy!

Equality of Nada

One of the treasures of this country-- a package of grace, literacy and intellect is Paul Greenberg, an Arkansas journalist who won the Pulitzer Prize in 1964 (at age 27) and who probably should have won it at least four times 

since then.

He settled  my own mind and self in regard to a critical concept that still plagues many airheads among us.

Now in the year 2016, we have recurrent anguished argument about "income equality".  We also have dubious factoids flung at us about the concept of "cultural equality".

Here is how Paul Greenberg solves the equation as simply as any Genius could:

The only way we could ever achieve "income equality" would be to establish a worldwide order in which every individual would be "equal"   in poverty-- equally poor.

The only way we can have total "cultural equality" is to sink the entire world population into equal ignorance.

Certainly shocks the old brain-pan doesn't it ?

But if we pause to think about it--- really concentrate our  empirical knowledge on those two statements, we must accommodate them eventually.

We certainly are all created equal in our conception and manner of birth. Then the hammering of all our particular geographical, ethnic and parental dynamics are hurled at our   vulnerable selves and psyches in innumerable known and unknown force and quantity. It is also well and good  to remember that in infancy and early years each of us is much alone,  attacked and impeded by forces not all of our design or factoring.  But we begin life competing. 

Competition is very real in some guise, and the truth is that there is no way to play the blame game for everything that happens to all of us. Particularly, im America, which  is the epitome of the 
 negation of privilege by right of birth. This country's founders dethroned privilege and crown  and their  Imprimatur has blanketed our Earth.

But there is no way to stifle or suppress mankind's divine  competitive nature. Despite the concerted effort by collectivists and anti-thinkers, we do have recorded history that goes back  6000 years in "written" record, and a richly implied prehistory that blazes with dramaric heroics  such as, for instance, the Siberians crossing  to Alaska about 27,000 years ago.

That is not accidentally a powerful lesson in competition that has affected all the wealth and culture of  all those fierce, rugged and inspired tribes.

As noted above, except that we have the sometimes twisted  History Channel  and the always precise National Geographic tradition, the teaching of history ib today's  high schools and universities is lax or nonexistent. Ergo, many younger-than-millennials do not realize that all of the days before "now" are lessons that undergird Paul Greenberg's thesis.

Venezuela, crumbling into chaos, is not the first laboratory end result of socialism--- the inchoate search for wealth equality. Everyone who was at least 12 years old in 1990 was  conscious witness to the wasteland of the communist Soviet Union. The 2016 Olympics visitors and participants will experience the endgame of collectivist Hell where every effort has been directed at "leveling" folks..

And finally, there is no better example of  personhood destruction  than the choking, hate filled despotism of radical Islamic Sharia law that literally kills every inspiration of grace or  mercy from  inside or outside the cult. How  many Nobel aureates has Islam produced ?

So,  however uncomfortable it may seem to some of us, we must bear the burden of competition and the quest for  new  knowledge of those things we cannot see, touch, taste, hear or smell. (Love, Humility, Generosity, Moderation and Tolerance for example.)  

They add up to an open mind and heart and recognition of excellence rather than the suppression of  achievement.

Maybe not very many people on the Internet  today have ever seen  millstones.

But they still grind to  create Life from seed eternally. 

And they DO  grind exceeding fine.

The Divide

There is definitely a "division" in our nation and I think it has more to do with the extant capacity for 
reasoning  enjoyed by one group as opposed to the dearth of such capacity in the other.

One group is comfortable with the responsibilities apportioned by the United States Constitution to citizens including the responsibility as well as a right to own firearms.

Just as grave responsibility is required of those who have access to gasoline, kitchen matches and Bic lighters.

One group, identifying a person who guns down 49 innocent people will make a common sense judgment that ALL people who tend to do such horrific things, who have been indoctrinated--- programmed--- to do such things, should sought out and be brought to pay a price for their conspiratorial actions.

The other group straightaway and immediately decides that confiscating all guns from everyone is the only answer that will prevent another maniac from dancing through all the background checks and multiple FBI interviews to shed blood in the name of  a particular conspiratorial worldwide allegiance or deity.

I remember an instance (in 1990 ?) in the Bronx in New York City when a man who had been bounced out of an illegal party bar  returned to the location  (The Happy Land Club) where he padlocked the doors and torched  the place with two bits worth of gasoline and a couple of matches (or a Bic lighter, depending on which tabloid you read).

Eighty-seven (87)  people died in that blaze. The people he was mad at, his "Lady" and the bouncer, both survived.

He was sentenced to life though  charged with more than 100 "counts" of different degrees of murder. He even came up for parole one time. (No Chance.)

But nobody screamed for a ban on gasoline, fuel cans or matches and Bic lighters. The authorities focused on the crime and the criminal rather than his tools.

As this is written, much is being made of the fact that the crazed Islamic terrorist might have been, as most of his victims certainly were, homosexual.

Well, he might've been an Albino, or double-jointed or a Pygmy. But he was motivated by absolute deathly allegiance to the Caliphate of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria. He was posthumously  embraced by ISIS , and imbued with Muslim martyrdom, as he had danced and applauded the diseased Islamic scum that killed nearly 3000 in the twin towers on September 11, 2000.

Confusing the blackness of these poor guttersnipes' hearts with the inanimate, non-sentient tools they pollute by touch will be the death of civilization, if someone somewhere does not collect and compact the will of people to say, as Florida's Gov. Rick Scott just said:

We've had enough. No more mad-crazy  displaced  strangers are welcome in our Home.

Who Hates Speech ?

This subject does not seem to make friends for anybody, but here goes.

Increasingly it has become clear to many of us that those who busy themselves with identifying and criminalizing "hate speech"  have one glaringly obvious characteristic in common:

They hate speech.

As this is written, a cabal of politicians in Louisiana is dedicating its efforts to prevent those attending school in the fourth-to-sixth grades from daily reading and reciting the Declaration of

Independence... Most specifically  that portion which reports that the Deity / Creator  made us all equal and endowed with universal "rights".

This is all incontrovertible evidence that there is no limit to the perversity of humans in search of  justification of their ill intentions.

The punishment of hurtful or  hateful words began on college campuses, where we all agree undeveloped mushy brains  of those budding citizens are comparatively unwrinkled.

It has always been a wonder to me that the terms "Dago", "Kike", "Bohunk",  "Mick", "Polack" and

"Limey" persisted in use as Non-Hate appellations long after the "N" word and "Towelhead", and "Spic" or "Beaner" were proscribed as actionable hate speech. Then, finally  I realized it was a "shades-of-white-and-color" sort of thing.

As a child in Georgia, I was not allowed to use any pejorative racial or ethnic slurs. I suffered both oral Lye soap and physical punishment for my  nasty Monkey-See-Monkey-Do lapse.

I had a cousin who was always referring to classes of  humanity he viewed contemptuously as "Guineas" and I confess I was a college graduate before I knew what he was saying.

The point of all this is a certainty that when it comes to name-calling, we all are closet sinners.

And just as in almost every other historical case, criminalizing  a  tribal failing is counterproductive.

Punishing people for outbursts of nastiness may be a good intention. But it's still speech and thought policing.

As noted above, it is evidence of a hatred of free speech and free thought.

It is more alarming than a camel's nose under the tent-flap.  It is a Cobra's or Viper's fangs in the coverlet.

Again: Would-be  judges of speech are probably haters of speech, regardless of the self-righteous smirks.

We all tend to stare at horizons  as challenges on occasion.

So, at the other end of the speech-spectrum, will we ever be allowed to stop  calling bloody thugs "dissenters" and rioting racist mobs   "protesters" ?

Let us  name them what they are:
