Scary and Deplorable

If I may, with humility, allow me to just parse this for you. It took me 36 hours to cool off after the first shock.

The AssPress carried a story Saturday out of Teheran, Iran allegedly written by someone whose name translates into "Allah is Great" in English averring that the USA "official VERSION" of Sept. 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center is "a fabrication and a lie".

VERSION ?

That, notwithstanding the fact that CNN showed the second plane hitting the second tower for millions (billions ?) of world TV watchers.

The authority for that statement, quoted by the AssPress, which emphasized the words "U.S. official version" was of course, Moomoo Imadinnerjacket, the lunatic Persian president.

Then on Sunday, another International News Media Giant, Al Jazeera, in reporting that Iraq citizens dismissed Baathist terrorist bombings that killed 38 to vote freely and innumerably are now "CONDEMNED to Democracy...."

(My capitals for emphasis added in both cases.)

Here we can isolate the situation that obtains on our little blue marble of a planet.

Two tyrannical news-gathering organizations are spewing toxic nonsense and spurning a responsible analytical report to kiss political arse.

And, no matter whether you live in Doha,Qatar or Denver / Kansas City, it's deplorable...and scary.

Hall Of Famer Agonistes

Any normal person with a bank account or a piggy bank would have shared my reaction.

Here was a contemporary of mine, a fellow I had admired since he was 23 and I was 30, and whom I still admire, being trashed by the left wing media as an obstructionist in the U.S. Senate.

All Jim Bumming was doing was what William F. Buckley Jr. used to exhort ALL of us to do: "Stand athwart History’s intended path and say "STOP".

Bunning, who starred in both major leagues as a right handed pitcher for the Tigers, Phillies and Dodgers, was blocking the body's consideration of a $50 billion spending bill.

Even though it was a dribble in the ocean of deficit debt this congress and administration is piling on our descendants, and even though it extended a portion of unemployment benefits, Bunning was more like Jimmy Stewart in Mister Smith Goes to Washington that he was like, say a Malaprop-clueless Barbara Boxer.

Yet many of his Republican senatorial colleagues and ALL the liberal mainstream media characterized him as a comic figure.

Shuddering at the approaching chimera of a half-Trillion dollar Obamacare frosting on the fallen cake of ne’er-do-well governance , it is difficult for this observer to criticize the strike-thrower from Kentucy.

Bunning is retiring. He will soon be 80. But even though he is the one senator to take the opportunity to say "WAKE UP ! ENOUGH IS TOO MUCH", and even though 30 Republicans approved the $50 billion "pittance" in deficit spending, I still find it bizarre that one editorial writer in southern California and this post are the only applause I have found for Senator Bunning.

The Hall of Famer fared better on the mound. I remember him winning 19 games three years in a row for the Phillies.

But he made some deficit deniers nervous. I wish him well; I wish, too, that he had managed a filibuster collapse (just mildly) like Jimmy Stewart.

Would that have shaken the doctrinaire left liberal media out of their profligate trance?

Maybe not...but as Carl Sandburg famously said: "The People, YES !!!"

The well-informed media in the UK know him better than the people in the United States: Congressman Paul Ryan, a Wisconsin Prevublican from Janesville.

They judged him ninth (9th) in importance among United States conservative "Leaders". They do this better than any of the lefty American journalists, being removed and objective.

He is certainly a magnificent thinker and elucidator.

As a member of the Wayd and Means committee in the Housem from which ALL spending originates, and as the premier budget expert who can silence Barney Frank and seize the spotlight from President Obama, Ryan stole the "show" at Blair House Thursday and stunned the "room" as well as some very feet-in-cement pundits.

Ryan has repeatedly said he is not a 2012 candidate for president. At 30, he has six terma in the House under his belt and just relishes his preoccupation with the federal budget and its crushing effect on this and future generations. Not an Ivory Tower type nor an Ivy Leaguer, he was educated in Janesville and at Ohio's Miami Unversity. In the Heartland.

We will do well to draw him to further nationwide attention. He has no ulterior motives. He just loves the United States and its children. He has three young ones.

And, thank Eternity, he is obsessed with trimming those numbers the Congressional Budget Office keeps throwing around and AT us. He can catch even the CBO in a mistake.

Nothing's Broken....They're Just Senseless

Frothing his spittle as usual, Massachusetts Democrat congressman Barney Fwank petulantly whined to a pet reporter a few days ago that:

“Washington is “bwoken” !

It would be waspishly witty to fake misunderstanding and murmur “Yasss, We ARE BROKE !”

But it’s not a giggle. Here we have the maestro of the Muddle...the moneystrings of the Nation who legislated free home construction for millions of unqualified home loan applicants while he sashayed into the sunset with his employee-boytoy, whining because his dreams are crumbling or melting around him.

It’s the same, old, left wing, liberal-“progressive” whimper.

When the “Contract for America” wiped out his Democratic majority in 1994, Bill Clinton and his wife moaned that “the system is broken !”

Yet, master politician that he was, Clinton snatched victory from the furnace of defeat, negotiating “welfare reform”, his premiere legacy and the only signal retreat from entitlement spending in history.

There were, THEN, responsible lawmakers who believed in the process--the give-and-take "sausage factory"---the journey, if you will !

But these doctrinaire Marxist socialist types of 2010 are a different breed. They take their marching orders from the profane Rahm-it-Thru Emanuel, the president’s chief of staff, and, as epitomized by Widdle Fwankie, when they are stymied or stalled, they squat on the pity pot and cry foul-havoc.

Even the president fell prey to the litany.

And all of this gnashing of teeth and tantrum-teetering is caused by one special election that returned “The Kennedy” senatorial seat to the people of Massachusetts when Scott Brown was elected there.

You only hear the cry “Washington (The System) is Broken” when popular opinion overtakes and obliterates conniving and conspiracy and the “earmarks”, pet projects and swollen udders of taxpayers milk are threatened with shrinkage and the extraction of the teats.

So, when you hear some U.S. legislator, pundit, talking head or professor yawping about “Washington” or “the System” being broken...

You can be sure that YOU will soon not be as “broke” as you have been, that the tax cutters and budget shrinkers are taking power from the irresponsible and ignorant.

But it IS up to you to keep the shrill rising, to its final silence. At the ballot box-cum-polling place near you.

This was supposed to support a huge "cap and trade" movement under which the United States would pay something like "reparations" to the rest of the world for using so much gasoline and deisel fuel.

Now, Dr. Jones admits that "there has been no increase in global warming temperatutes since 1995 !"

Dr. Jones also admits now (and he would NOT heretofore) that Earth's temperatures were muich hotter in medevial decades than since--with no fossil fuels use or possible man made warming of the planet.

Yes, I admit to a preoccupation with this subject---maybe an obsession.

But, we are surrounded by shuck-and-jive Flim Flam men with walnut shells and peas and playing cards for three-card-Monte and a plethora of sleight of hand and sleight of mouth tricks. So, cap-snd-trade is what ? Extortion on a galactic scale.

Stumbling around the internet, I ran across a strange story to the effect that the Internal Revenue Service is buying shotguns.

There is a site called BizOpp.gov that announces probable purchases and notices of intent to purchase.

They are starting with 60 Remington 12-gauge, short-barrelled pump models (like civlians are barred from owning).

Now, you know that 60 "sawed-off" shotguns will not "cover" all the USA. So it might be inferred that there is, in planning, an "Elite" squad of heavy hitters to send to brazenly recalcitrant tax cheats. (Treasury Secretary Geithner, maybe ?)

The income tax has been called "Progressive" and "Regressive" and has never been popular.

In the year 10 (AD or CE-if-you are PeeCee) the first emperor of the Han dynasty imposed the first income tax. He was dismembered and overthrown within twelve years and the tax "repealed".

Sadly, after being embarrassed by "the colony" of America, Great Britain, under Prime Minister William Pitt (the younger) sought to recoup its losses and brace for the Napoleonic Wars with an income tax of two pence per year on 400-pound incomes.

0's "Freeze" May be a Hot Potato...

Giving credit to Dr. Charles Krauthammer, Liberal intellectual economist Paul Krugman and left-wing midget Robert Reich all in the same paragraph may be too much for you....but there you have it !

That Obama “freeze” on discretionary spending by the U.S. government is another smoke-and-mirrors, Oz-like shell game sham, they say.

Krauthammer told Bill O’Reilly on Fox News Channel it is “three-card-monte”—meaning misdirection of comprehension, in my lexicon.

Let’s say that Obama’s budget, presented to the House democrat leadership, where ALL sppropriationsm must start, calls for a 35% increase in the budget of the attorney general’s budget (to take care of the release of indicted Black Panthers and civil criminal trial in New York of enemy combatants with explosives in the crotch , (and / or a Gitmo lockup history.)

Well, a “freeze” would lock that increase into all future appropriations.

Not that Congress has recently scaled DOWN an appropriation. It has, however, limited cost-of-living increases in some cases to 3.5 % hikes.

So, as Krauthammer says, it’s “chicanery”. As Krugman says it’s “appalling!”. And as Reich says he just cannot believe it.

They may not be able to weigh the resentful anger in the alert, informed American voter’s heart. But these White House chiselers know how to transform a “freeze” into a potentially “hot potato”, however unintentionlly.

They have not figured out that the Tea Party is neither national political party.

The Tea Party of 2009 and 2910 is a knowledge-driven celebration of America and its longevity.

Bad Penny Has Two Sides

It HAD to be on a Monday. And it WAS. January 25, 2010 in fact--that two startling stories slammed into my ken.

One was a video of the President oif the United States making a speech to 11-and-12-year-olds, using a teleprompter. At first the report was denied by that famous oracle, Robert Gibbs, fresh fom undressing himself on Chris Wallace's Sunday interview.

But the swiftie web site IHatetheMedia.com had a video up, showing his Adored-Ness flicking eyes laft to right from the panels as he intoned to the sixth graders.

Next up was Congressman Marion Berry (D) of Arkansas with the intelligence that he had repeatedly warned the president and White House aides they were courting disaster with the all-court press on Obamacare, deficit spending, and trying to cram Crap'n Tax GW climate legislation down the throat of a dubious electorate.

Berry, who is retiring becaue he sees a bloodbath for Democrats in November 2010, said no one i the White House listened. In fact he quoted President Obama as saying nothing like what happened in 1994 to the Clintons is going to happen....

Why?

"Because you all got ME, now !!!", Berry quoted Obama as saying.

Free At Last !!! The People's Seat....

As a young journalist and speech writer, I was in the midst of the earliest temporizing around the issue of segregation and voting rights in the south.

I sat with my friend Hughes Spalding Jr., on the platform when his Harvard roommate John F. Kennedy announced his presidential candidacy in historic Warm Springs, Georgia in 1960.

Thus, it was with pride that I sobbed audibly and welcomed the tears that ran down my cheeks when Dr. King spoke that day in front of the Lincoln Memorial.

Then, MLK was assassinated and a nightmare unfolded. The worst of it was the imprisonment of 14% of the population of the United States on a political plantation of hatred, fear, envy and dissimulated demagogy.

Dr. King cried “Free at Last !!!”

But, despite the fact that mainly Christians stood with Dr. King and conservatives like Charlton Heston walked across the Pettus bridge in Selma, Alabama in defiance with him, the lunatic Left in this country has skillfully equated reason and traditionalism with “racism” to the extent that truly great minds like Dr. Thomas Sowell and Dr. Walter Williams are called “Uncle Toms” by ignorant sheeple.

Such has been the case in many precincts. In Massachusetts, for instance, where the vapid, puppet-like, maundering wastrel younger brother of JFK took the US senate seat he vacated, and was returned for 40 years, for love of Jack Kennedy.

Few remember that a great African American Edward Brooke, was subsequently elected to the senate in 1966. He was a Republican and served for two terms.

On Tuesday, January 19, the second Historic “Tea Party” was held in the Bay State, and the “Scott Heard Around The World” became the first Republican senator there since Brooke.

Scott Brown won the election with four words, when he corrected the vacuous and notorious air head David Gergen, who referred to the prize as “Ted Kennedy’s seat”.

“It’s The People’s Seat”, Scott Brown said.

And that was , for all purposes, the end of the campaign.

The people put their seal on Scott Brown’s statement, and wile maybe 30 % of America’s electorate missed it, and its significance, the thrill quicken the hearts of millions, and not just in Massachusetts.

Shoot the Piano Player, Too !

Despite the plight and pleadings of the Honorable Gerald Walpin (see my immediately past posting) we still have some lively whistleblowers harrying and pestering the idiots and ditzoes in the Obama administration.

And that is a good thing, for ALL of us, because every time someone blows a whistle, the Obaminable go crazy half-cocked and try kill them—or at least shut them up.

The latest victims are two travel writers who innocently circulated a Transportation Safety Administration (Homeland Security) memo of immediate change in TSA search / scan rules and regulations that were promulgated and “leaked” to the two writers while the Detroit bomber’s hypo syringe was still warm.

DHS Big Sister Janet Napolitano was so INCENSED that her security attempt to close the barn door after the herd was loooooong gone, that she sent TSA “agents” fanning out to subpoena all travel agents who wrote about the memo.

“They took my Laptop”, one writer said. “I thought it was an announcement by TSA. It was just “there” in my inbox.

The other travel writer got an attorney and told the TSA “agents” to “fly-of”...or something like that.

What IS it with these Obamanatives. They don’t want to kill the messengers of bad news.

They have now started killing piano players.

And THIS is delicious...the memos they are so silly crazy about being “leaked” were prepared for public distribution ! (On dizzy Janet’s timetable.)

The phrase “Don’t kill the piano player...he’s doing his best” has been attributed to Mark Twain, but Oscar Wilde reported it from a Leadville, Colorado saloon on a visit to America in the 19th century.

“Don’t kill the messenger” goes back to Sophocles in the fourth century B.C., but was picked up by William Shakespeare for use in “Henry iv” and also in “Antony and Cleopatra”.

During the past year, in this administration, there has been a lot of it.

Tea Party protestors who actually ADDED UP and complained about the national deficit ($13 TRILLION); a slip of a girl and a video-wielding boy who exposed ACORN corruption in three cities; Fox News Channel (in general); Glenn Beck (specifically), and Rush Limbaugh —all these were “shot” by an uptight administration that could not pass the LOOK-SEE test.

Americans will probably wait forever if they expect an hones cleansing of the soul mea culpa from this crowd.

They seem Hell-bent on magnifying their lies, miscreances and screw-ups by loosing the hounds of pre-Hell on the heels, souls and freedoms of the Truth-Tattlers.

It is good for all of us that they do so.

This way, all of the shameful and scandalous tyrannical inner-angst of these monsters will be exposed in court documents—even if they holler “calf’s rope” and quash the trials at the last minute.

Even though I personally believe the wrangling among Democrat lawmakers will go on until nearly summertime over the “healthcare” bill that must now be “reconciled”, I am still awed that the administration will hazard hurting nine tenths of the population while allegedly “guaranteeing” med “coverage” for one-tenth.

There will be other outrages to consider, however, so get some popcorn for the microwave and sit back.

Gerald Walpin’s suit to get his job back as inspector general of Americorps, is going to be the hottest ticket as the court records are enlarged and enlivened by further filings by Walpin and his attorneys.

Walpin caught Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson using Americorps federal grant money ($800,000) for unauthorized purposed and blew the whistle on him. Among other things, court filings show that Walpin caught Johnson, a former NBA star and a close friend of Michelle Obamas before he supported the president in 2008, was using federal money to pay personal slaveys who ran errands, took messages and washed his personal limousine.

In addition to this, Walpin ratted out the City University of New York University for mishandling and misapplication of chunks of federal grant money.

Americorps’ Board members had been rattled by their investigator’s findings, and shut off all communication, information and contact with him last Spring.

Then, President Obama’s “ethics Czar-counsel” called Walpin and gave him an hour to resign, then called him back in 40 minutes and fired him

Inspector General Reform Legislation of 2008, written and co-sponsored by then-Senator Obama REQUIRES a full report of reasons and a 30-day period for Congress to approve any such action.

It has always been that all Inspectors General are appointed only with the advice and consent of Congress, to protect ethical standards and fair employment.

That wasn’t done. The White House brushed off that detail with an accusation that Walpin (aged 76) was “confused and not coherent”.

Thus, age discrimination rears its formidable head in Walpin’s suit.

All he wants is his job back. He wants to jail thieves, evaders and offenders before he leaves his job. On his own terms.

This will be a “Doozy”. That 1920s term comes from the most beautiful car of those times, the Deusenberg, which appeared to be half a block long.

And the Walpin trial will NOT be abbreviated. His lawyers promise a continuing spate of “amended pleadings”.

Having put off the carbon valuation, limiting and swapping shell- game until after the Copenhagen farce, and the unexpected whistle blowing of an insider scientist at East Anglia University (the emails were not “hacked” but DELIVERED !), the U.S. Senate will tackle “Cap and Trade”.

Known by the cognoscenti on Capitol Hill as “the crap and tax thang” this legislative log-roll will strip bare all the fools and whores in the manmade global warming religion.

Hot Air Harbinger

A harbinger of sorts was sounded on Christmas Eve by one of the most unlikely realist-journalists in the United States, Alexander Cockburn.

Fired from his VillageVoice job for taking $10,000 in Arab oil money, and now at the ancient darker-thanpink The Nation magazine, Cockburn is an Israel Hater, and has recently attacked Socialist Senator Bernie Sanders as well as President Obama. Cockburn was critical of Bush and both his wars.

But he opines that Copenhagen is a farce begotten by the besotten. If some of his progressive followers actually investigate and then have another reason to subvert Obama from within ?

Reflections on Homework...

Here is this wrinkling, withering octogenarian who paid a great deal of attention to the exploits of Ahmed Massoud, the Lion of the Valley of Five Lions when he coalesced the bloody tribal ethnic-enemies in Afghanistan to chase the Russian communist invaders home.

Although this charismatic leader was later assassinated just two days before “9-11" by Taliban and Al Quaeda conspirators, he is permanently revered by Afghans speaking every dialect of all three major languages with disparate tribal and ethnic loyalties.

All true Reagan lovers know all about this. So do readers of Ken Follett’s “Lying Down With Lions”—a great illumination of a pre-patriotic Afghanistan jelling into (almost) Nationhood as long as Massoud was alive.

But, since President Obama is everything except a Reaganite and since he has apparently not read Follett’s novel OR apparently, anything in Wikipedia about Massoud, Afghanistan, the rise of Taliban and the internecine conspiracies of the alien Arabian bin Laden and Taliban clerics...he made a rather off-handed speech before the cadets at the United States Army Military academy (which the president’s worshiper Chris Matthews (MSNBC) called “the enemy camp”) which will accomplish nothing good.

Hurriedly, in a pique of boredom that explained his seven months pf dithering Nero-like, the president–laid an egg–in showbiz lingo.

In essence he said that this (30,000 new troops) is NOT a “surge” and that he’s going to bring them back (what’s left) in a matter of months.

We are going to get the job done, he said.

And what is the job?

Pull out as soon as possible.

In 1979 and 1980, the Afghan anti-Russians were few and scattered and more interested in killing their historical; tribal enemies. They all agreed on only ONE thing: absolute institutional misogyny—oppression and suppression of women in the name of historical tradition and Islamic Sharia law.

Piecemeal lip service now ten years later, will serve no purpose but to feed the pustule of fascism inherent in attitudes and projections of Massoud’s murderers.

My prescription is that Camille Paglia and Sarah Palin fuse their dignified, logical and pragmatic feminism into a blazing force that will fuel an INFORMED uprising to educate, disrupt and destroy all appeasers of Talibanic liberty-hating, anti-feminism.

Maybe the scairdy-cat left-winger will wake up to that. Killing Taliban is good, mind you. Capturing bin Laden alive would be good, too.

But Massoud and Reagan and Maggie Thatcher—and Winston Churchill--- changed history by changing souls of the iniquitous, jaded appeasers in seats of Power.

The really Big Bad news for the socialis looters is that some genius reportedly hacked into the computers at Hadley —(where the United Kingdom’s Climate Research Unit abides)—and found a treasure trove of hypocrisy, outright lying and falsification of scientific and historical data.

It reportedly included emails gloating over the death of John Daly a respected, effective and outspoken skeptic of man-caused climate change.

A rearrangement of perspectives by plain old Main Street Americans might even bring about some honesty in Washington D.C.
